Born on October 1st 1976 in Graz/Austria, Holger Schober studied acting at Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. He worked as an actor for Theatre (Volkstheater Wien, Landestheater Linz, Wiener Festwochen), Television and Cinema (The Counterfeiters – Oscar Best Foreign Language Film 2008). In parallel, he wrote scripts for the German and Austrian television. Through various collaborations with German and Austrian renowned theatres (Thalia Theater Hamburg, Deutsches Theater Berlin, Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Theater Heidelberg and Dschungel Wien), Holger Schober wrote plays for young audiences, which were then translated into several languages such as English, French, Dutch, Swedish, Arabic, Polish, Japanese, Italian, and Croatian. His work received numerous prices from Austria and Germany: Hikikomori was nominated in 2006 for the German Theatre Award for young audiences; Clyde and Bonnie received the Austrian Theatre Award for young audiences STELLA 09 and the Award of the Jury at „BestOFF Styria“. Finally, the play Heimat.com was awarded by the Dutch-German Theatre Prize in 2010.
